Uranus Posts and Balances

How many different puns can someone come up with regarding a colonoscopy?

Greek Goddess
She'll be in and out of the procedure
Glaucoma Scope

To name a few.

A dear family member is having this procedure done tomorrow and she's a bit frazzled by the process of it all. The preparation leading up to the probe seems to be the most difficult of the two. (hindsight is twenty twenty) The cleansing of the colon, the clearing of the pipes so the doc can have a sunrise view of the planet URANUS.

Quick someone get Katie Couric on the phone, perhaps she could walk her through it. Or if anything she'd be able to provide live footage of her walk down Tushie Lane.

URANUS. Interesting facts on The planet Uranus.
It's pronounced Yur-IN-is" and not "Your anus."
Funny, how is urine derived from the anus?

Ah, well, can I HELP the fact that my mind works in CRUSTY ways? GEESH!!

Initially planet Uranus, was called "the Georgium Sidus."(the Georgian Planet) in honor of King George III of England. The name "Uranus" was first proposed by German astronomer Johann Elert Bode in order for it to be in conformity with the other planetary names - which are from classical mythology. Uranus is the ancient Greek deity of the Heavens, the earliest supreme god. This name did not achieve common use until 1850.

So, enough chatter about "posterior camera probes."

I decided to continue back on my "anti-depressant." Do I want to ADMIT that I need it? Nope, never! Should I have stopped taking it cold turkey like I did? HELL NO.!But I did and you can't take back the past. From all my mood swings I was well aware that I had a serious balancing issue, or lack there of rather, in my 3lb'r. Having to call my mom bawling that I just can't manage three children under the age of 5 is cause for re-evaluation of the lovely "anti-D."

The actual thought of walking into a "Behavioral Services" establishment and telling the front desk clerk that I am at my lowest mental state and need immediate admittance was like anticipating an upcoming vacation to the island of FIJI.
HONESTLY! THAT'S how intense it was.

So, listening to my BigDog's recommendation, I started back on those "anti-d's."
One a day.
One day at a time. (Great old show, by the way)

Do I have to take them forever? I sure as hell hope not. But, until the hormonal flux settles down, and my body returns to normal post breastfeeding, post partum and postpregnancy, I'll be surrendered to the wonders of that little white pill.

The pill that offers my highs not so high and manages to bring the lows up to a level where I no longer feel the need to stay in bed all day with my covers over my head.

So yes, they're working.

Welcome To Crusty Beef
I have PND but I don't have to have a coli tomorrow. REMEMBER, the grASS isn't ALWAYS greener, now is it? Especially after eating blue jello.

Never ever, niece, go off an A-D cold turkey. Talk to the doc or do it grrrrrrrrrrradually.

Any other way and you'll feel as if the world is constantly poking you in the ribs.

Been there. Have done it wrong and then done it right.

Hey, watch it with the glaucoma stuff. The word comes from the Greek "glauco" which to them meant gray.

When one has glaucoma, part or all of the visual field is replaced by a foggy gray blind spot. In my case it's a medium blob in the middle outer portion of my left eye and curls like an apostrophe over the top of the field.

It's manageable with Zalatan but is IRREVERSIBLE. I shudder to think what might have been the case had my doc and I not caught it when we did.

The lavage is horrible.I've had to make my 84 yr old chile have the procedure thrice in the past year and we're due for one shortly- but its horrible all the same.

My sympathies.
