I Heard Spring In The Snow

Are you familiar with that "pants on the ground" song?
I don't have time or energy to watch American Idol anymore, as much as I'd like to. Even after DVRing the show, I still hadn't watched a single episode, but that didn't mean I didn't hear about that song and "The General."

Funny enough, my Mom told me about the song and told me to check it out on YouTube.

If you know the tune, then sing along to the words below:

"Spring In the Snow
Spring In the Snow
Looking like a fool
For my garden hoe.

Ice blocks melting
Birds are Singing
It's almost time to get the Cadbury hopping...
Spring In The Snow..."

But seriously, I did hear Spring In the Snow early this morning when I took our poochie outback for her potty. (We have a fenced yard, but there's been an increase of coyotes and one dog was put down after they were attacked, so I'm being a good poochie owner and watching my pet.-Another story another day-)

While out back about quarter to 6 this morning, I heard sounds of song that if you were unfamiliar to our Chicago Seasons you'd swear it was the snow singing to you.

But it wasn't the snow singing. It was the sounds of the morning birdies that come back in the Spring.

As they start the process of their early morning song.
As they arrive for dress rehearsal every morning to be fine tuned and nestled when Spring is in full swing.

It was just the sounds I needed to hear to remind me that Spring will be here.
Before I say April Showers, it will be Summer and we'll be listening to the sounds of the night birds melting the summer nights with their sultry summer night musicals.

This Summer it will be different for us. Because as of yesterday we are fully committed and will be moving out of the town that we currently live in. We've purchased a home!! -that we all can agree on-

Yes, I am sad to leave this town behind, but I have family here, and memories here and it will forever be the place where I grew up, so that can never be taken away.

Besides, I'll have some benefits to the new town we're moving into;
~being closer to my mom's family roots
~and closer to that delicious candy store that makes amazing caramel apples in the Fall

There are many other advantages too. But I think I'll just leave you with 2 for right now.

If you're in the Midwest or any frozen chilly state, what hints have you seen for signs of Spring?

Our birds are suffering from depression because of the two feet of snow still on the ground! We can now get to the feeders without killing ourselves, so have been filling them religiously.

I have seen none, maybe cuz I live in a state of permafrost......
I'm sorry you're leaving too. So manyn wonderful moments in this goofy hometown of ours.
You're gonna have to turn me onto those carmel apples you mentioned though.
CHVI'S!

It's really hard to see the signs that spring really is coming, but I did notice the other day, one actually sunny day...that the sun was still shining in my LR at five forty five in the blessed PM. So that is something.

Yea YOU! You bought a house! Such fun...after the packing, that is. Big, big hugs. :)

Ok, I am lovin' your Spring in the Snow song. I believe I may just have to make that my mantra over the next couple of months.

Only in Georgia can we have snow on the ground one weekend, and 65 degrees the next. This past weekend was a hint (or tease) of things to come. Hopefully soon...real soon.

Congrats on the house!

Can't comment on the spring as it's always somewhat sunny out this way and the birds are out every morning every day of the year. In fact, I think the birds out here wear sunglasses.

Glad to hear you finally found a house! Best of luck. Home all goes smoothly with the move.
I love hearing the birds sing in the morning. Just one more reason why I go for morning walks. :-)
