Electrosurge

That's what occurred last night in the dental chair of the Sauntering Frank's office.

Electrosurge.

I was sitting there in the dentist chair as Gia, their newest and size below zero skinny pants with doe eyes and long lashes laid the pad underneath my back.
I guess he didn't learn the first time around, only this little hottie hygienist is married.

You see I was having the build up done on tooth number 15 to prepare it for the crown, but they needed to do electrosurge and burn off some of the gums around that tooth, to make room for the temporary to assist with impressions, and for when the crown comes in for delivery in two weeks.

It hurts. Plus my insurance won't cover it so it's an additional $93 out of my own pocket.

They pull out the funky looking laser thing with all these wires. Gia begins to connect the red wire to a tan pad meanwhile as I ever so calmly turn towards my dentist and with my heart racing, I asked him, "is this one of those heated massages that I am so definitely owed?"

Yeah, didn't think so.
No humor this time around.
But I'm leaving here and paying you 629 dollars and 50cents even.
I deserve humor.
Instead I developed yet another anxiety attack, which I did work myself out of, after I pictured myself ripping off the wires, pulling the gauze gag-er from my mouth, yanking off my blouse and running outta there naked. That made me laugh to myself, that freakish visual story that I had running in my head, so it settled my blossoming panic attack, and naturally I didn't cave nor die.

They connected the red wired to the pad and placed it under my shoulder, near my back, perhaps to keep me warm and fuzzy.

To keep me grounded instead.

The big daddy wire, the one that intended to do their work on the gum, was the king of all wires. The drama will be caused by this black wire that had a silvery pen looking gadget with a piece of thin metal sticking out of it.

Drama and not trauma because of the drama I launched into later on at home when the numbness wore off. That's the electrosurge's fault.

Yep, Sauntering Frank with his zen music and his hot little Italian broads assisting, used that black daddy wire stick and volted that machine up to cut off my gums, and I felt the zinging they did to me then. Yelping out in silent pain from my gank pelvic jerk, he took that as a sign that it hurted (intentionally said) so, he re-needled me with numbing aids, all in my upper area gum lines in numerous spots near the palette too, to work on numbing my bad self up and much better too.
Although getting a needle stuck into your upper palette does hurt quite a bit, it makes my head go light, and my neck gets all red and flush but what am I going to do about it?
You know, because I'm such a sally, and could initially feel him cutting/burning away my gums.

Then I was fine thank the heck goodness, and didn't feel any zinging that had previously found a pathway to roll up zinging and freaking up in my brain. You know that feeling, when you chew on aluminum foil? Sort of like that, but picture it climbing up within your insides with pop Rocks candy popping up inside, deeper and deeper with the volts.

Not fun.

Then I got home and by then the shots of the Novocaine had begun to wear off at just the time I was climbing into my bed to attempt at watching Greys Anatomy and their show this week on date and tell policies.

OHMYGOSHmyGUMSHURTLIKEHELL!!

I sent my mom a text message and it read: "OWIE I WANT MY MOMMY!"

and then I fell asleep on my husband.
and his foot still really hurts.
It's been some week.

Around Today

4:30pm today will find me in Sauntering Franks office for my every 6months teeth cleaning.

Every 6months? Yes, well, unfortunately since having three children, my teeth, especially during the pregnancies, took it very hard.

I'm guessing my teeth have to be female.

So, every 6months I'm in the chair, getting sandblasted and feeling like I'm at some excavation site as the people work over my teeth.

Yes, I know, it doesn't help that I love coffee and I love my cigarettes. But I will say that I do take good care of my teeth. I floss them, I brush them after meals, and especially after a visit to Starbucks. They just refuse to cooperate. But, that's life, so, what am I supposed to do? Complain about it and never do anything about it? Or, just manage it the best I can and move along with their requests..Yes, that route.

But I'm not ready to remove myself of the toxic caffeine and nicotine yet. I do have plans to research that new smoking cessation pill. However, I was told you're supposed to NOT take this pill during the visit from my dear DEAR pal, Pam. So, I need to look into it more.

Anyway, now that you guys know my general cycle (the modest men are blushing out in this blogging world), and you know that I want to stop smoking, that I have two bad habits but I am comforted by these habits, what else are you interested in learning about me?

I figured today, I'll turn the tables, and if there's something you want to know (except my true name, what the name of my town is, and why my nickname is Crustybeef) I'll be happy to tell you.
I am trying to catch up still from when my in laws were in town, so I do apologize if I haven't been replying to your comments that you're graciously leaving for me. Please know that I do appreciate them, the fact that time was spent to stop over read and say hi warms my heart. I will catch up, and things will be back to straight pathways in my world.

On that note, here's a picture of the towel cake.

It needs re-adjusting but that's simple..

Welcome To Crustybeef~
I hope the pregnant hygienist isn't doing my teeth, she was such a little bitch to me last time.

Guess What?? Part Deux

The drama of Sauntering Frank and his young Tartlet continued out of the Albanian Grandmaish Woman's mouth each time the Frank would leave.

Did you forget that I was there for a root canal? I didn't.

He walked in, Dr. Sauntering Frank, massaged my cheek a few times, put some berry tasting topical (numbing gel prior to the shot) on my Gum near tooth # 13 on the upper "deck" of my mouth, and then walked out.

(There were conversations in between, and at one point I could have sworn he was a bit too comfortable with me as his patient-I've had this in network Dentist for years now. But I'm not getting into his conversations in this posting because, this is all about my tooth.)

Soon, he came back in with the shot and, rub-rub-pinch-my-cheek, in goes the clear acrylic needle. The numbing agent felt.
The release of the chilly ice.
Racing towards my tissue like a pack of wolves.

No, it didn't work. No numbness. I have that problem apparently.

RUB-RUB-PINCH-MY-CHEEK in goes another needle. This time the feelings a tad reduced, perhaps now a pack of skunks running for their underground homes?

Still didn't work after 10minutes. Now total of 20minutes.

RUB-RUB-PINCH-MY-CHEEK in goes the third needle.
Finally! Relief.

Laying back after 3 shots, a few minutes go by,

"Crusty are you okay," says Dr. Frank, "you look really pale."

"Actually, I'm feeling dizzy," says I.

"Let's sit you back up for a few minutes," says Dr. S.Frank.
He pulls up the chair by the tap tapping of his foot, and my face is beat red, and flushed.
My insides, racing.
I could smell my pulse.
I could hear my heartbeat.
I could see my dizzy and flushed head, neck and arms.

Yuck! Must have been from the Novocaine-maybe it had epinephrine?

Back to normal, the drilling begins. Then the Xray to confirm.

"Uh, Crusty," says Dr. S Frank as he holds up my 3 framed banner (just like the one up at the top of my blog) xray pictures, "I think we're going to have to put you completely under, your root is on a right angle. It goes up, the canal, and then does a bit of a curve and turns into a right angle. You have extremely long roots. This procedure's going to take much longer due to the set up of your canals. We recommend sedation. Plus the infection is resting on the nerve, and is fairly deep, so I'll have to spend more time digging around and bleaching, so to speak, that infection right out."

I couldn't be sedated. I had to have the car home so that either Bigdogg or I could head to Jack's school for curriculum. Plus I had driven there, so that means I'd need someone to drive me home. I couldn't have Bigdogg pick me up, because he had the children and I had the minivan.
I couldn't reach anyone close enough to me.

I'd have to do it laying awake in the chair. But unfortunately it would need 2 more shots.

The appointment at 4:00pm thursday, should've been 45minutes max. I was there from 4:00pm-6:45pm.

Dr. S. Frank did warn me that I would be in pain, and pain I was. The Novocaine never got strong enough to give me that nostril tingling feeling, it had worn off by the time I had arrived home.
My dentist is a 5minute, if that, car ride.

I was NOT in a good mood.
My repaired empty tooth was causing my entire noggin to pulsate to the beat of my throbbing mouth.

Welcome To Crustybeef~
It's Sunday and It still hurts.
I was given a prescription for Darvocet which I take at at bedtime. *Last night I woke at 12:25am and ate a softened Madeline cookie/biscuit.* :)
Thus the absence of Me, the Crusty on your sites. I'll be catching up throughout the rest of this Labor weekend. So, don't you guys worry, I'll be lurking on your sites in just a few hours, or minutes, :) if you're lucky.

GUESS WHAT....? Part Uno

She lays there listening,....wanting to speak, but not sure if she's allowed to;

"Guess what? He's having a baby!!"

"He got her knocked up."

"Can you believe that she's 22 and he's 47?"

"She tricked him because he has so much money he was planning on building a $1.5million dollar home, he now is buying her a $289,000 house out in the west suburbs-do you know where St. Charles is?"

"uh-huh." She replies having been given the silent permission to talk-tingling talk mind you.

"She's such a bitch, she lied to him and said she was getting that shot to prevent pregnancy, she's after his money. She's an orphan that has a very dysfunctional family."

"They fight all the time, and she threatened to sue him. Now they're in counseling and he has an attorney to make sure she doesn't screw him over."

"He won't marry her because he knows that she's after his money and will divorce him and end up with half of all of his earnings, including his tan jaguar."

"So now he can't buy his dream home, and he'll continue to live in Burr Ridge, but he plans on supporting her and the baby the rest of his life."

"She's going to become a stay at home mom now, and basically will never have to work again, because he'll cover the cost of living for her for the rest of his life."

"Isn't that messed up? She's just a bitch, this girl, a controlling manipulative rude bitch, and I can't stand her," said the 65 something year old Albanian woman.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You'd think that was something out of a soap opera show, or perhaps the latest Jerry Springer trash talking show, but it wasn't.
This dialogue from the Albanian woman occurred in Crustyland. As a matter of fact all of this transpired yesterday while I sat in the dentist chair.
My Sauntering Frank got his young flavorful hygienist pregnant. It was no surprise that they were fooling around. I sensed it the first time I ever stepped foot into his office. Just a feeling, but everyone that knows me knows that I have this uncanny intuitive sense-been that way since I was in 3rd grade.
No, I'm not a psychic, I just get these "feelings."
That's all.
Nothing more, nothing less.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My tooth on the other hand suffered much more yesterday. Which unfortunately I'll catch you up on later this evening.
Guess What Part Deux to follow.

Welcome to Crustybeef~
I'm living on Tapioca Pudding.

Bewitching Hour of 4:00pm

Usually at 4:00pm the start of the dreaded bewitching hour begins over here in the house of Crusty...
The children are tired and cranky.
They're overloaded with the days tasks behind them.
They're trying to decompress.
The only way children know how to manage their day, how to actually decompress, is to act out.

Whines.
Shouting.
Fun fighting with their brothers.

Even Ben joins in during the start of the bewitching hours.

Usually my bewitching hours go from 4:00pm until 7:00pm.

Sounds mundane to those of you that aren't used to the young minds of children, I know.

I know it's also difficult to grasp how annoying these hours can be.

Crustymom at 4:00pm is trying to come up with the dinner/supper meal. If I'm lucky I'll have set out meat, or some poultry to defrost first thing in the morning. I'm not always that ahead of the game though.

Last nights supper consisted of my infamous caramel toast, some fluffy cheese eggs, sausage links, and mini pancakes-that's always quick and easy.

So, it's quite clear that I can't stand the hour of 4:00 on.
But when I can't have those hours, I actually miss them.

Take today for example;

At 4:00pm, I'll be heading to my Sauntering Franks dental office for a root canal on tooth number 13-yeah for me, the bewitching hour starts with lucky number 13.

I won't be home experiencing the cranks and wanks of the crusty kids, but I'll be going through a nasty procedure that's supposed to improve your tooth pain when the canals are removed.
I'm not that lucky. No matter what dentist I go to, regardless, whenever I've had a root canal (and I've had my fair share of them, unfortunately) the pain afterwards is always much worse.

So for today, this is one day that I'd much rather be dreading the bewitching hours with my cranky shortcake boys, versus laying in that uncomfortable dental chair as Frank removes the life lines from my tooth #13.

Welcome To Crustybeef~
I always get a kick out of how the numbing agent makes the inside of my nostrils tingle. Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm crusty.

Peefed!

Two root canals needed. Tooth 14 and 13. Tooth 15, the point of pain already has a root canal. Never a crown though. Could be the pain is passing from the tooth 13 and 14 that need root canals. Those teeth have deep cavities that are almost touching the nerve. The Sauntering Frank (he slides like Frankenstein does-rather odd) said that I'll need tooth 15 retreated with an endodontist, because the seedy dentist in East Florida didn't fill all of the canal with the sealant. They'll have to put a microscope up in there. What is this, Childbirth?

I detest teeth drama. I have braces on in 5th grade, had that freak show pull out my baby teeth, and never allow my mom into the back room, and actually kissed me on my lips, for not crying one day when he was adjusting my brackets after slipping the tool and driving it into my gums. Always would sit extra close to me, leaning over. I could feel that nasty man's disgusting energy. Filth.

He screwed up my teeth. Thus my mom finding out about all this drama, yanking my sister and I out of there putting us with a great ortho. Finding out the previous ortho, the filthy one-jacked up the teeth. I didn't have my braces removed until the summer of my senior year of hs. two days before my senior class pictures. In, GASP, 1992!! YIKES!! :)

So, I blame that bastard for all of this. Well, that and pregnancies. But good gracious. All those years, only to have my teeth turn into empty homes? Makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm on amoxecilian (sp?), and Tylenol 3 with codeine for the infection in my tooth. Tooth #14 will be having a removal of their life lines on Thursday at 4:00. 3 hours before I have to be at Jack's school for mandatory curriculum night.

I'm NOT in a good mood.

BUT, a medicated mom's words are a sober mom's thoughts: Today as I was sitting there in "Sauntering Frank's" small dentist office, I thought of all of you that take the time to leave comments here. I hope all of you guys know that with you, ALL OF YOU, I feel accepted.
Finally.
Good evening~
I'm off for a couple of smoke and chokes!! :) *SOUL
p.s. I'd say pissed, but my tooth hurts when air comes through it..so I see, "peefed," instead.

The Smell of Them-Always The Same

Heading to my dentist in about 15minutes.

He works. He's in our network so the usual $2000 cost for root canal, post core and crown only runs us a total of $900 out of our pocket.

As my Bigdogg says too, "He's a pretty attractive guy, for a dentist." (Bigdogg is very secure with himself and our marriage!!)

He plays Frank Sinatra tunes throughout his small three room practice. His hygienists are cute Italian girls that talk so fast it's fun to see their mouths shape the face mask.

He saunters in with a look on his face like he'd rather be playing soccer. But he always talks nicely, always asks about the family, and compliments you on your weight. Regardless of how much you weigh, he'll always tell you, "My, you look like you've lost weight."

He has a cuteness to him, but he's still a dentist.
His office still smells like the rest of them do.
The chairs all have that uncomfortable hump behind your neck.
And those damn lights, always that nasty urine yellow glare.
I'm heading to the dentist for a really bad tooth ache.

GmaB will be watching the boys.
I don't know what they'll be able to do with this cracked back molar. I've already had a root canal on it.

Be Back later.
Welcome to Crustybeef~
hopefully without muffled cotton to ease the extraction!! Cross your fingers.
