Tidbit Tuesday

The ice is falling down on us in forms that freeze the steps, the paths, the directions.
Directions that are navigational tools that we don't always follow.
That we must take to go from Here to there.

Perhaps a reminder to stay in and reflect.
To stay back and tread lightly.
Nature gives us her reminders to slow down when she blankets the ground with frozen liquid rain.

Tiny droplets of this glare crust that can cause serious angst if one isn't careful, can also be seen in wondrous beauty.

After the rain ceases, after the glaze settles herself, the sun will peek out behind her eyelids of the grey sky, and prism reflections will be available upon surveillance if we should only stop and look for it.

It brings thoughts and questions hidden down deep, back to the surface.
Questions of self availability.
How often are you available to yourself?
Do you listen to yourself?
Do you care for yourself?
Or have you forgotten your own gleaming ice?
Do you cautiously walk up on the liquid rain when looking into a mirror of your soul?
Or do you still run about your bodily pasture free and uncaring without concern of the wear and tear of your inner heartfelt self?

Find traction in your steps.
View life with candied eyes.

Seek solace in your emotional mold.
To glide through life with artistic beauty, and not just by the palms of your hands or souls of your boots.
Work towards seeing beauty and slowing down when nature reminds us so.
Sing when you're told to slow down, when nature gives the glimpse that she doesn't stop changing regardless of the ignorance of others.
Keep singing when you find a shadow engulfing you, because soon enough that sunlit sky will shine again over you.

And ask yourself, what would you attempt to do, if you knew you wouldn't fail?

Another beautiful pure Crustalicious post:) An important reminder to me to step out of survival mode and into a Zen mode. I love the question you pose at the end, and I will be thinking about it today. I need to know the answer because I hope to go back to school, but have no idea - or rather, too many ideas, of what I want to be when I grow up. I hope you and YOUR awesome family are having a wonderful winter day, treading lightly on that ice!
:)

Portia: Awwwwwwwww, thanks!! I love that question personally! For me I'd accomplish so much...
lots os ice that won't get worse until later on when the temperatures drop...should make the evening commute fun for the ones that have to be out driving! YIKES!!
Happy Tuesday to you and your awesome family too! :) {{{HUGS!!!}}}

She's beautiful and an arteest! Very well done Crusty One! I enjoyed that very much... especially among the icy pictures.

What would I do? Good question... I shall ponder it amid the load of laundry I must fold.

Interesting thing to ponder. I hope that you and big dog and the boys have a great evening. Ithink that song by Missy Higgons reminds me of my sister's type of songs and singing.

Kelly Jene: No, you're the artist!! And soon to be published author!! :) oh man, you just reminded me that tomorrow is my laundry day..YUCK! I don't get along with laundry too well-just ask my mom, when I was a teen, my laundry basket was sticking clothes under my bed... :) as if my mom needed anymore work with 5 kids. :)

Mosiac Mind: HEe-hee...so your sister has good taste in music too, huh? How are things today? More ice and more rain..but in a few months, spring will come!! :)

Crusty~

It's so good to read this thought provoking blog entry and realize that our Crusty is back. The question begs thought and comtemplation. Mr. Wright was a crusty old gent. He wasn't a gentle man but his work gave him a rightful place in the history of architecture.

Mary: crusty indeed...and there was a bit of a mixup with his partner and for quite awhile we thought there was a relation with us-the name-Sullivan.
I'm back! :)

Mary: HEHEHEHEH,,,and oysters DO make a difference-well that a babysitter-HEE HEE!:)

PSS: I like that, I'd be more daring...after thinking about it, I'd say I'd be more outspoken vocally-because than it wouldn't be met with failure or a turned shoulder ignoring the words that I say.

Austie: thank you! I have a new song on here that I think you'd enjoy-called the Urban Angel by Natalie walker...goes well with this post I think.

Soul: I got my coffee,..and It'll be a slippery walk with the ice from here to the Texas toast, but I can glide and will see you soon! :)

hello! I'll be adding you to my bloglines... I used to live in Champaign/Urbana but am much happier here in Tucson. Your photos make me long for a White Christmas, though. I'll be getting to know you throughout 2008, I'm sure.

Well - tell Queen Elizabeth II that she is old and nasty and no body cares for her 3 o'clock speech anymore.

Oh that's not very nice! Ops!

Beautifully written Crusty. I am feeling a bit teary eyed after reading this. I guess I am kind of emotional lately. Your words are lovely and poignant. I have reread this post couple times already :)
Good night friend.

What would I do it I couldn't fail? Maybe put myself out there in the dating scene. That's where I have no confidence. I'm good on 'paper' and have no problem taking to clients. The thought of dating scares me to death. I think I'd also block MTV if it wouldn't cause WW3 here.

Stay safe in your winter wonderland.

Shy Smiler: awwwwww, tanks! Tucson is nice, and I already told my aunts about the whispering ranch-how I want to go there for a much needed break!! Thanks for sharing that on your blog!!

Martha: you're absolutely welcome!! Thank you for thanking me! :)

THe Real Hen: HAHAHAH! There are SOooooooo many reasons I find your comment absolutely hilarious. Maybe it will come out someday. So pardon me but I'm off to call the Queen to tell her to spend more time eating oysters than yakking! :)

Kyrie: You and I must be riding the same emotional rollarcoaster. Two days ago I told Bigdogg that mentally I feel like I am cracking..and have been doing quite a bit of crying lately too. Course when I was on meds I couldn't cry to save my life, so I guess this is the trade off for not having pills to swallow, I'm feeling my emotions and as bittersweet as it is, it is good to cry. Hang in there with the application..all will settle. You have a friend in me so seek me for anything!!

Cheryl: That was really honest and I wish I could take that fear away from you and help you to see that you would be a blessing to anyone that got to spend time with you..you are deserving of so much and when the time is right, you will find that the fear of relationship faith will have diminished. Better to have loved and lost right? :) Feel better and change those batteries
-on your CO detector..thought I should clarify that just in case. _ :)
