dot dot dot

Ben's cough isn't sounding to good. It's become much more croup like and if the home remedies don't work we'll be visiting the Er.
******************************************
We've spent a good portion of the night up, with Ben. We'd get the seal under control after hanging out in the freezer, or outside and then in the steamy bathroom, and then just as soon as he'd fall asleep, he'd wake up crying and coughing. So the cycle would repeat itself. We did give him a dose of cough medicine that he had been prescribed during his March 12th bout of Croup, and that held him off for about an hour.

It's been a very long night, but we managed to manage it without disrupting his disposition further by taking him to the Er. He has an appointment this morning so we shall soon hear the verbal diagnose of what this secondary infection could be.

I was on the verge of tears last night when his attacks came out of nowhere, but after internalizing the situation, I realized at least it's something we're familiar with. I guess I'm just tired, you know? Just when things move forward, something tiny and minor makes the steps you just took seem worthless.

Ahh well, It's Monday. It's a new week. It's sunny out. Brian got to the train station earlier then usual this morning, and Jackson is on Spring break.

it's confirmed (yet again) that he has a bad case of Croup. So back on steroids breathing treatments..fun times!
When I asked his ped why he continues to get it, all he gives me is, "it must be his achilles heel."

bullshit. my nose is to the ground and I'm now sniffing out information to figure out a better answer then a damn heel.

CB -

Research the food he eats. I am a firm believe in "we are...what we eat!"

In which case...at this point in life...I am a GIANT Chocolate Chip and Toasted Pecan Cookie.

It IS tiring and it's awfully scary when this happens even though it's happened before! My daughter's having the same problems with her one-year old. The sleep deprivation affects everyone in the family.

New doc? Big medical center? I don't know. I don't like your doc's answer. I hope you all can sleep tonight. One day at a time, one night at a time.

Poor guy. My daughter has been on steroids daily since...eek, I think it was last September or October? Fall/winter are just brutal for her, always have been since she was an infant. She's got ongoing complications from RSV and when she gets hit, it's bad. There's been gradual improvement as she's gotten older with the daily meds, but if it hits again, we'll be looking at going to Children's Memorial for a consult with a pediatric pulmonologist. I really hope he starts doing better!
