Rainbow Rise

Today, or was it yesterday, I woke up and when I parted my red cafe curtains that embrace my two windows above the kitchen sink, I was given a view of a solid sunrise with the main attraction, ROY G. BIV.

Then, it rained later on that day and the leaves that have plagued our driveway, filled up our gutters, blanketed our roof top all in preparation for the snow, have blessed us with a lovely balance of yellows and browns and reds and orange. No matter how fast we mow and bag, it's pointless, the branches are taunting us with more fun playful games before they go into hiding deep within the root of the branches, the life lines of all the tree's.

Sort of like a last hurrah, only it happens every year.
It's okay, I don't mind if they tease us, they're just so darn beautiful.

Ahh, Life is Good.

And then I hear a cry from above, and it belts out, "Mooooooooommmmmmmmm, Ben's going to destroy our roooommmmmmmmmmah."

Time's up. Kid's grab the rakes, you're being put to work.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm glad to hear the good news on your health. Continue to enjoy the beautiful autumn - rain or sun and have a great weekend.

Yep, it's the end of the Cruel Summer.......With all the leaves here, it's like I'm drowning.

I like a little rain now and then, it feels so cathartic.

I've been doing the raking leave thing too. I actually like raking leaves, just not the bagging up part.
This will be my last year for a while - no leaves at the new townhouse.

I have so much raking to do. Wah, wah, wah. I guess that will be my exercise this week. At least we're not expecting snow any time soon. Snow on leaves is not good. :))

So sorry I'm just now getting to your post, lovey. I've been a wreck. I got to have a date with hubby and we went to this huge, beautiful fountain and there was a rainbow throughout it.... so beautiful.

I love ya.. even if I'm a lousy blog buddy.

Waterfalls and rainbows...

I don't get it. What's ROY G. BIV?

The joy of living on top of a hill is the wind just blows them back in to the woods. It's the amazing self-cleaning lawn!

XOXO

What a great way to expend some of that enormous pool of energy kids seem to have. Rakes? Why didn't I think of that?

Crustyyyyyy! I'm sorry I've been gone so long, but what a joy it is to catch up on all of your crustylicious posts.
Again, I'm so relieved that your tests all came back clear. I know that was stressful for you. Speaking of the stress, Bob Marley is my all time favorite! Despite its simplicity, something about "everything's gonna be alright" is super calming to me too. Sung or said. And I now know exactly what Soul was talking about when she said the thyroid is shaped like a butterfly. It does!
Good luck with the TMC!! We quickly swapped all that "C" for juice "treats" and animal crackers...but I'm pretty sure that trick is only good for one year.
I always love hearing about your developing snapshots, and all the natural grief over the exposure. It is hard to be tolerant of intolerance isn't it?
And back to the post I started with, I wondered the same thing Brad did- who the heck is Roy?? But google told me you were talking about the rainbow- or a rainbow of colors. What a way to start the day:)

The leaves HAVE been beautiful here, too...and then they hit the ground...and holy cow, the raking that needs done!

Enjoy your wonderful home and kids and life dear Crusty. I'm happy YOU are happy.

Hugs.
